Medanta Plays Crucial Role in Nationwide CPR Training Drive

Lucknow – On the occasion of World Emergency Medicine Day, Medanta Hospital spearheaded a nationwide CPR and First Aid Training Program, reinforcing its commitment to community health and emergency preparedness. The intensive 24-hour campaign was simultaneously conducted in 16 cities across India, with over 1,000 trainers (Captains) educating the public on Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and essential first aid techniques.

As part of this national initiative, first aid kits were also distributed to various police stations, enhancing their readiness to respond to emergencies and offer basic medical assistance on the spot.

The primary aim of the campaign was to empower citizens to respond swiftly and effectively in emergency situations. In Lucknow, the event witnessed enthusiastic participation, with attendees receiving hands-on training in life-saving procedures.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Rakesh Kapoor, Medical Director of Medanta Lucknow, emphasized the significance of CPR and first aid knowledge for every citizen. “These skills can make the difference between life and death. Until professional medical help arrives, a correctly executed step by a trained individual can save a life,” he stated. “Initiatives like these help build a culture of lifesaving awareness in society.”

Dr. Lokendra Gupta, Director of the Emergency Department at Medanta Lucknow, echoed this sentiment, adding, “Our mission is to ensure that people don’t panic during medical emergencies. Instead, we want them to be confident and proactive in helping others. This training drive is a major humanitarian step in that direction.”

The campaign received widespread appreciation from both the medical community and civic authorities. By involving local police forces and the public, Medanta’s initiative is being hailed as a model for grassroots emergency response preparedness.

Through this collaborative effort, Medanta is not only enhancing public health awareness but also contributing meaningfully to the creation of a safer, more responsive society.
